Herbert Lowe was employed as a cleaner in the Traffic – Motive Power Section of the Midland Railway at Derby.

Herbert Lowe was aged 20 when he was killed at Gallipoli, and was employed as a cleaner at the Midland Railway Station in Derby. He joined the Derbyshire Yeomanry six months before the war began, and was called up for active service at the outbreak of hostilities.
His widowed mother lived at 29, Drage Street, Derby, and his only brother and two of his brothers-in-law were also serving in the forces at the time of his death.
